I have a sick looking male betta that stay still on the surface of the water occasionally swimming round and round trying to bite it's tail. It doesn't eat much actually not eating at all.

There are no physical sign of any disease on its body. So i suspect it must be internal. I think the problem got worse after I fed it some tubifex worms. However, other fishes in the same tank are not having any problems.

Anyone knows roughly what kind of disease it could have contracted from the above symptoms and how to treat?

its very stressed, probably by internal parasites caused by the tubifex. try starving him, add ketapang leaf and epsom salt... keep in a dark place and hope for the best... WC every 2 days and add e same things...

    good luck!

Alternatively you can use medication for internal bacteria or try NLS Thera A pellets.

I tried the Interpet anti internal bacteria, I think my betta is recovering. It's not lying on its side anymore. However, it's still not eating. It hasn't eat for 4 to 5 days. Guess I will give it a few more days. Hope it doen't die of malnourishment.
