Cyperus helferi

Hiz,
May i how do i trim Cyperus helferi that has grown too tall ? I noe it will not continue to grow if i just cut off the stem, which i have try when it is infected with algae. Anyone have any ideas about trimming this plant? Thankz

Hi pepsi,

THink there is not much u can do about the height. I ahve a feeling its for taller tanks, cos mine is always too tall for my tank, trailing to the front and sides of the tank at the surface. very sian.

You can try cutting off alot of the leaves, leaving a number of younger shoots, and so stunting its growth rate for awhile cos it can now only depend on the smaller leaves for photosynthesis. dunno how this will affect the health of the plant though.
