Currently i have 60++ shrimp of different varieties( greens/cherries/sakuras/etc) in a 1ft tank.. can the tank take it? im worried their waste will alter the water parameter.. please advice!

    Re: overcrowded?

Maybe the current present algae might give you the answer...those shrimp you've mentioned are quite hardy from my experience. Slightly lower water quality shouldn't do much harm to them. But I would still recommend limited feeding and consistent water change.

    Re: overcrowded?

The problem isn't overcrowding alone. A 1ft tank has very little water thus there is a high chance of water problem in the mid term. I wouldn't recommend anything lesser than 2ft.

I admit I have a 1ft tank, running 2 filters (one canister, one hang-on filter). There is constant worry that something will go wrong. Am preparing a larger tank and hoping to transfer the shrimps out soon. The 1ft tank will be decommission in due time.
