I have check the mechnical parts of the filter, propeller sharf still in 1 pieace, no damage on propeller, both coarse and fine filter wool is not clogged. both intake and out flow is transparent, can see that its not clog too.![]()
Did you attach or link other equipment to the filter.
the flow is like this
inflow with sponge ( clean every week )->
estimated ehiem tube 1 meter to Ehiem 2222 filter ->
inside filter is fine and coarse filter wool ->
cremic rings, active volcanic rocks and some coral chips ->
outlet to Resun Cl-280 ( 2nd hand but works fine) 50cm->
Resun CL-280 to lily pipe est 1 meter.

I cant be sure. But I do experience reduced flow when my hose are dirty. Initially I did not think that dirty hose could cause such great reduction to output flow till I cleaned the hose with those eheim long brush, and I saw big difference.
Additional or reduction of equipment may enhanced or reduced the output flow. Point to note.

You can also try to reduce and wash the cremic rings, active volcanic rocks and coral chips in your filter. Also you may want to try using the fine filter only. Taking out the coarse filter may also increase the flow rate.
Think it is time that you do some cleaning and washing of your filter media.
2222 could not sustain heavy bio-load for long and it needs frequent maintenance compare to its bigger bro, 2224, 2228....
but the problem is my tank has got like total 30 odd CRS and RCS only. Plants are xmas moss, java moss, us fissden. tank size 2'x1'x1.8'.
You try open up the canister and see what's building up.
checked last night, nothing~ 1st tray with fine and coarse filter wool, 2nd tray with active volcanic rocks / cremic rings / coral chip. And they looked clean.
maybe it's time to change the impeller.
most likely the magnet has lost a significant portion of its strength.
bring it to a reputable lfs to check.

i tried taking out 1/2 of the bio media inside the canister, but the flow is still the same.

What you can do is to run the 2222 without anything in it and see what the flow rate is like. The put in your filter media and run it again. If the flow rate is still the same with or without media, then the problem lies with your 2222.

ok guy, i found out the problem. The u-bar on both inlet and outlet of the filter is stuck with algae. Remember to wash them frequently.![]()
