Impressive....I like the angels..good job
Thought of naming this 4x2x2 tank 'Bleu' due to the high numbers of Blue Angels i have in this tank. It'll be a sort of progressive tank for me, though this tank has been through numerous scapes over the past 4-5years. Currently it's under 300watts lighting (Metal Halide) 6500K and external filtration (Eheim 2026). No CO2 injection for this tank as yet. Flora includes Echinodorus Rubin, Echinodorus Tennellus amongst others. Fauna covers Blue Angels, Bosemani Rainbows and some tetras.
Regards,
Phillipe.

Thanks Volley, it's just the begining of the desire to recreate my all echinodorus tank. Something which i had back then.
Hey bro, (ranmasatome)! Yeah, been busy with work commitments and travelling. Great to finally have some decent time to work on my tanks. I didn't take a full shot of the tank and the lighting was supplemented by other low wattage so hence the current picture up there. Well, i'll just post up updates as i foray again into this scaping frenzy!!
Love your forest tank by the way, reminds me of my other home in Brussels, very near to a woody forest.
Regards,
Phillipe.
The angels are really pretty.Like the nice wild look there with the tank.
Thanks Droicut, got those angels when they were still a baby and 50 of them!! Now they have these irridescent blue sheen to them especially on their forehead and a dark blue throat. Males are begining to show a slight hump on their foreheads.
They're always constantly hungry and will rush immediately to the front of the glass whenever i step into the room.
Here's two pictures of the Blue Angel and the Bosemani Rainbowfish.
Regards,
Phillipe.

setting up an angel's tank is one of my dream too ... nice![]()
Nice setup. like it a lot =)
yup, couldn't agree more on the nice setup and that bosemani rainbow fish that u had the color is stunning, have not come across that before in local fish shop.. may i know where u had that from?![]()
I like the colour contrast of your tank.
welcome back Phillipe!!
your blue angels really make my hand itchy on getting them!!![]()
Thanks guys

I got them almost 3 years ago at C328. For the Bosemani rainbowfishes, the males will colour up upon maturity and when in breeding season. Often the ones you see in fish shops are still juveniles. Give them some time, a good feeding regime and you'll be handsomely rewarded visually.

You should get some too, maybe start a nice Scalare tank with some Vallisneria americana var. americana perhaps? hehehe!
Here's a few snapshots of my background plant Potamogeton malaianus on the right and left side of the tank. Inflorescences began sprouting out from the floating emmersed leaves
I just love how the leaves turn into a nice transluscent brownish copper on the upper halves. Speaking of which, i'm still trying to find Echinodorus Indian Red and contemplating as to whether i should add a few strands of Echinodorus Vesuvius in the background.

Phillipe

think no space to add in more fishes already...
how big can the blue angel grow?
Should be roughly around an average palm sized when fully grown.

Phillipe.
Wow- the blue strikes a nice contrast. I bet there's not a single shrimp in there.![]()

Hi Stan,
Used to have hundreds in there, but they became tasty crustacean morsels for my ever hungry angels. Now the cleaning crew only consists of Otos and 2 SAE. Algae not so much of a problem as i dose 3 capfuls of Flourish Excel daily topped with 20% weekly water change. So far, it's been very consistent with the water clarity.

Phillipe.
Hi Phillipe,
Yes- can't be helped. I had a similar experience with angel and rainbows on different occasions.
Pardon my asking, are the plants in your tank predominantly brown or the water tea coloured? I once setup a 'brown' planted tank because I wanted my discus to stand out.![]()

No worries, my water's a little tainted due to the blackwater extract and also the bigger major plants are Echinodorus Rubin which has brownish reddish leaves.
Regards,
Phillipe.
I decided to compile a wish list of plants yet to be found to add to the tank.
-Echinodorus 'Indian Red'
-Echinodorus berteroi
-Echinodorus 'Oriental'
Echinodorus 'Oriental' will be easy to find but i'm doubting if i could get hold of the other two though.
So the search begins....
Regards,
Phillipe.
