IS THIS WEIRD OR WAT !!!!!!

My A.Diplotaenia spawned n the fries are about 5 days old now..for the past few days,the female has been tending to the fries ....she does not chase the male away like most other apisto will do...but instead lets him wander past the fries...then today the unexpected thing happened.the male started chasing the female away and attacking her whenever in sight...the even weridest thing is tat HE STARTED TENDING TO THE FRIES like wat a female would do...guarding them from the female any carrying them using his mouth whenever they wander off....really need to know if any body out there experience this before...and for those who has breeded A.dip before, did experience the same thing
help needed...will try to post a pic of the male tending to the young if i can get hold of a digi cam

my tank heavily planted... quite impossible to take him out....he is like taking the fries for a walk NOW..in front of mi....

hey malau,
sometimes things like this do happen. Juz let them be for now,but don't count on him tending to the fries the whole way. Should he get horny again,he might eat all the fries so the female will spawn again,cos from what i understand,the female will not breed again unless she's lost her brood. Meanwhile, keep an eye out for the female also,cos he might get to over aggressive and whack the female a lil too much. If this happens juz seperate them. If u need extra tank can lend u my 1ft cube first cos now still no space..haha..

anyway,something similiar happened to my agassizi red gold before,the first spawn,there were some fry,then somehow the female lost interest in them. Then he started to tend to them. But after a few days he ate them. Which is also partly why i keeping them seperated until the fry are bigger. btw,most of my caca's fry all gone...[]
