:existing setup with co2
Hi fellow AQ members,
I would like your suggestion for my existing setup w co2.
Initially, the space in the middle of the tank was taken up by cabomba and elodea but as time pass I realised that the lower half of the stem plants started to yellow and the leaves started dropping.
As a result, theres a lot of mulm inside my tank.
Only yesterday, I pulled up all the unsightly stem plants and sucked up all the rotting leaves etc. Then I realised there's still a bit of space for me to do planting. Or is it?
No more stem plants with aerial roots, any other usggestions?
Or should I grow out the tape grass to fill up the tank?
Cheers.![]()

Thank you for correcting your short form.Do note though, that with a number of minutes, the system will actually allow you to edit your original post.
If you fill the tank with the Valisneria, it would be very uninteresting. A different mid-height plant would be better. Perhaps Cryptocoryne. It will add a different colour to your tank as well. Did you put substrate fertilisers? If not, get something like Root Monster which you can insert into your existing substrate.
Whatever you choose, try to get something that is a different colour or at least a much different shade of green, mid-height and with different shaped and sized leaves from yor existing plants.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
Cryptocoryne definitely do better with a fertile substrate. Root Monster is just one choice. Probably a good idea to check out the offerings by other brands too.
