please have a look at my first ever aquascape.. comments are welcome

    25cm x 25cm x 30cm nano cube
Plants : mini nana, HC, hairgrass, US fissidern and i am not sure what is the one tied to the bogwood.
fauna : horned and ramhorn snails
soil : ada and some fine light brown sand for the path
lights : 2 clip-on lights, about 20 watts in total, is this enough?
    co2 on diffuser
    Cooling method : fan
    filter : atam HOF

this tank is about 2 weeks old, tried to add some shrimps but died one after another. Guess the tank has not been fully cycled, But the snails are laying eggs. pardon me on a few coloured marbled looking pebbles, was using them to weigh down the HC until later than will remove them.

nice setup and very clear water
sad to hear your shrimps died, but i think you can get some CRS for the setup, i'm sure they'll brighten up the scape even more

    Re: my first ever aquascape

its better to start off with cheaper shrimps like cherries/malayan first. CRS are not cheap!

there maybe something wrong with your water parameter. 2 weeks of cycling is not enough. you might need 4 weeks of cycling at least.

    Re: my first ever aquascape

yamato and malayan also died? maybe there's really something wrong with the water parameters like what they have mentioned above. Maybe you'll need some test kits to test the water

i'll take back my idea of you putting in CRS

Got potential. Maybe 4-5 setup later can join ADA competition.

no potential la, just lucky the different element in the setup goes ok with one another. if only this hobby is less time consuming and easier on the wallet, i would have experiment more. 1'll just be happy with 1 setup for now.

hmmm i find 50 shrimps inside quite ok.. cos more than half will be hiding and resting most of the time.

You can. All you need is a standard sized tank and time to do your re-scape. That's how some of the HK guys do it. They have 1 tank but they regularly change their aquascaping. I think a 3ft tank should be your canvas.
