Hi
The usual connection is 1 filter to drive 1 chiller. You can always use 2 cannister filter for 1 tank but ideally 1 filter should drive the chiller.

I think your flow rate might be a bit low for the CL650...
thanks, Is 2x 2028 overkill on a 4ft tank?
Benibachi Pure Red Line CRS!!
There is a recommended flowrate to drive the chiller else chiller will kick start very often. 2028 still no sufficient enough?

I should get a CL450 or HC-300

How big is your tank? 2ft should use 1/15HP, 3ft should use 1/10HP.

4x2x2? 2 x 2028 will not be an overkill for the tank.
2028 is only 1050l/hr flow rate. The CL650 chiller if chilling a 4ft tank will probably require a flow rate of around 1500l/hr to be efficient in chilling. So a 2028 will be able to supply sufficient flow rate into the chiller but it might not be very efficient.
You might also want to note that the 2028 will also generate heat and heat up the water going into the chiller.
you can use t-joint and output both filters to the chiller. that way you can increase the flow rate of the chiller but be mindful of the higher flow at the output into the tank. might cause too much water movement (2x1050lph).
Yecch!
4ft tank safer to use CL500 rather than Cl650. CL500 is bigger in capacity to CL650. CL650 should be used for a 3ft tank. Just my opinion and experience.![]()
