    Hey guys,

Snapped a photo of Rotala spec. green "emerse" last nite... nice plant.

I'm heading to Thailand on Sunday for a couple weeks holiday, touching down in Bangkok first. I hear there are some great lfs there - do any of you have any lfs suggestions or tips in general for vacationing there?

    Cheers,

They look so different in emersed form. That's beautiful. So they become creepers just like money plant? Does emersed requires good lighting to grow well? Will probably try it if easy to grow.

There's something interesting to read at Fish Shops at Chatuchak Weekend Market, Bangkok, Thailand.

Erik: do drop by Singapore as well.

Thanks for the replies guys! And Juggler, I will make a serious effort to see the Chatuchak weekend market when I'm in Bangkok (thanks for the link!). Of course, I am primarily looking for aquatic plants, but I have no idea whether these are popular in Thailand or not. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Naturetan, it's been pretty easy to grow the rotundifolia emersed so far - they are receiving fairly strong light (couple of 96w compacts a few inches away) but generally I think they need far less to do well emersed. Definitely creep strongly.

    Take it easy guys,

Chatuchak has at least 5 (my last count last Nov) outlets specialising in plants, with fairly impressive show tanks. If the main storeowner is present, you shouldn't have any problems asking for rarities like unusual crypts, mosses, ferns, echinodorus, etc.... if you are bringing them back, clean away all traces of soil and wrap the plants in damp newspaper. For the States, I think it's best to hand-carry them.

Cool... thanks Budak! I'm excited to see what I find. I'll let you guys know how it all turns out, and I'll take care to prep the plants before coming back into the states.

    Illegally yours,

    toshi
