Boyu activated charcoal

Hi guys i really need some help here.
i have been using this kind of active carbon in my carninster and its over 1 month
will it be harmful after long months ?
i done some read up and i heard i release phosphate
so should i take out the carbon or leave it there
i will be glad if experienced people can shed some light

If you use the good quality activated carbon, it will not leech anything back into the aquarium even after it has been used up. But if you are using the cheap, low quality activated carbon, then whatever has been absorbed by the carbon might be leeched back into the aquarium. That is why we always change the carbon every month.
