It depends on the size you are looking for.
I did a customised 3ft x 1.5ft x 1.8ft tank (braceless)
By any chance do I know you?
Your nick seems very familiar to me.

Bracing prevents your glass from bending outwards for long tanks and eventually breaking. braceless tanks use thicker glass to prevent bending, i think braceless tend to be more expensive.
Bracing is actually more for high tank(1.5feet and above) to prevent water pressure pressing down causing tank to expand and give way at all direction. If it is a low 1 feet or 1.5 feet tank, no matter how long it is, it will not give way unless it is more than 5 years when silicon is weaken or cheap silicon. Bracing is more expensive cos of workmanship and more glass. Thickness of glass is depend on the size of the tank. Hehe.
Treat your fishes like your baby. The sign and symptom is the same but cannot talk.
Go nature
thanks guys. so bracing more expensive or less?
wackytpt: don't think we knew each other before.
lyan: the dimension I have in mind is 4ft by 1ft by 1ft. I was quoted with bracing even though it's only 1ft height. maybe it's because it's only 6mm thickness.
I remember a brace less tank is more expensive compare to standard tank with bracing, as brace less tank need thicker glass. i got a customized tank 4x1x1.5ft with 12mm glass all round cost slightly less then 4 blue note.
Bracing is required for anything less than 10mm in thickness to be safe. Braceless tanks only come in 10mm or 12mm
