i did consider that before. but it states recommended for height 45cm above. for 1.5ft five plan tank the height is around 30cm and minus substrate it only left with around 20cm of space...
ISTA Surface Skimmer is for you.
Spotted at C328 and Seaview Aquarium.

You can use something like the Ehiem surface skimmer...anw i happen to have 1 lying ard in the storeroom..pm me if interrested.

The problem is the height of his tank, most skimmers are too tall for it..
may have to do with something like a 'mini sump' style. dunno if can get around here though..
Something like the this

thanks bro for the suggestion, i did bought a unit to try out and it could not fit the height. end up in my 4ft..
interesting product, but i dont think we can use it. this is what i got from their website
Jbj Nano Cube MSS modular surface skimmer instantly transforms your intake grill to an overflow box.

i did consider using a HOF with built in surface skimmer, however i heard that using HOF causes co2 loss and of course adding to electricity bill~
trying my luck here to see any bro have come across small surface skimmers~
Bro, the power usage coz by the HOF is count in watts. Its really small amount. Besides, I dun think the CO2 by agitation can by compared to a full blown sump.
I just got the ISTA surface skimmer yesterday and installed it. I got it working fine, need to fiddle a little, and I'm using a canister filter. Same tank as yours, 1 1/2ft.![]()
