    It look nice when just growing, then I become worried as it grow and become web like, clinked onto moss and fishes can't pass throught it. (Trap). But it is very good in holding ricia togather and formed a nice carpet layer.
    So have to removed it before it spread to the whole tank.

    Looks like thin thread and you found a purpose to use it . Think it's Spirogyra algae.

    So lucky, in the same tank also have Cladophora, Blanket Weed.
    Hope it does not cause much problem as this is a low maintenance tank. Just top up water. Platy is growing very well - forth genertion already.

    I have those thin thread algae on my java moss too. I thought it is Cladophora. The funny thing is that I saw my angel fish eating it! It bite the thread and pull it out from the moss.

    This link, http://www.theplantedtank.co.uk/algae.htm will show the difference between the two. If you used magnifying glass of 5X you can see it.
