Could be these parameters:
1. Maturity of shrimp
2. Single gender
3. Water conditions

I have a 2ft tank with Sakura and CRS in it. I can say my tank had been already very stable with no casualty since one month already. My Sakura and CRS berried well but the only problem i face is that i can only see my Sakura shrimplets. I don't see any CRS shrimplets at all.
I remember reading somebody also have the same problem with me so he is now intending to clear off all his sakura in the tank rearing just pure crs.
Anybody facing the same issue as me in "mix" tank??? And any expert can comment why is the case? I have plenty of shrimplets but none is from my crs or golden. So disappointing.

May be need some patience.

i experienced this problem when i started out with my hobby as well. however, ever since i restarted my tank with purely crs, i never had the problem. to me, i feel that only one population can do well in the presence of the other. unlikely for both to do as well in a same tank. solely my person view...

what u mean by purebred?

Once upon a time, I had a rainbow tank... Cherries, Sakuras, Yellow shrimps, Orange shrimps, bee shrimps, Malayan, CRS, snow whites etc...
That was really one United Nations gathering.

Same issue here. Got 10 CRS those $20++ from C328, they were berried and actually I saw CRS shrimplets. However after a few days they all disappeared.
Sakura shrimps on the other hand got 6 pieces from a friend, now got at least 100++ pieces in the same tank. So think should be nothing wrong with the water
Wondering what is wrong also.![]()
Decided on planted tank for now

Actually, CRS and cherries have quite different water requirements and tolerance levels. For example, cherries/sakuras are more tolerant to higher temp and pH as compared to high grade CRS. Even the cherry shrimplets seem to be more hardy and more likely to survive to adulthood. CRS on the other hand seems to be weaker and very sentive to WC.
Since it's proven that the current condition is suitable for cherries, I suppose you may want to concentrate on cherries for this tank and maybe start afresh on a separate tank for CRS only.
I think patient is the word to use. My snowball berried for nearly a month before it give births, same for my sakura. Than my tiger berried and died. Now one of my C grade CRS is berried and still kicking. Will need to wait for couple of weeks to know the result. So far none has any miscarraige because either they give birth or bellied up during pregnancy.

Takes about 3-4 weeks before the eggs hatch. If the eggs are gone from her belly, you should be able to see the shrimplets more easily after 4-7 days.
The new-born are translucent and very small, about a fraction of an mm. The higher grades and snows new-borns are harder to spot as they contain very little red which shows more easily.
After 4-7 days, the shrimplets are only very slightly bigger, but the coloration is more solid and shows off against the background. Hope this helps.

give it a while my friend..In a weeks time, they will be out and about. I used to worry like this but just when i thought it was a failed brooding, the shrimplets start coming out from left right center..
cheers
