Any advise?
Hey guys!
Went to get my 3 packs of 8KG GEX (Dark Green Pack) just now for $100 total.. Man it was heavy and troublesome to move it around after work in formal wear..
Anyways, when getting the GEX, I took a little time to shop around the LFS.. This T5 light set got my attention, its was a T5 54watts x4 set.. Total wattage would be 216..
So the question is, with the tank that I'm making which is going to be 120(L), 60(W) and 50(H), total 90 Gallons plus minus.. How much light would I need if I want to grow some lush HC and some Jap var. hairgrass.. Would this light set be enough? Heard of the Watts/Gallons idea, but was thinking if anyone knows if 216 watts would be good enough?![]()

Yup should be fine. I got 6 tubes for mine because I wasn't familiar with how efficient t5 was and regret it now. I just turn 4 tubes on. Plants are growing well.
Yo! Finally when to custom my tank from Wee Yang already.. Nice bro.. Got the light set from him too.. Glo Light brand.. Looks awesome..
The light set is a T5 2x54watts, 6700K light set.. Wee Yang helped call a friend of his to answer my question worries.. Feels more at ease after hearing that the light I brought from Wee Yang is enough even for plants like HC and the likes..
Will update you guys when I get my tank.. Too bad only got a lousy camera phone with me.. Injustice to the tank and light set..
I'm using a DELightings 4x54w t5ho lightset on my 4x2x2 with pressurised CO2. I'm regretting it because I find it's too much light for my tank. Perhaps it's the individual reflectors that increase the efficiency of the lighting (i think ATI says their reflectors increase the light by like 85% or so? My memory may be wrong), but it's really intense. Got to really make sure your CO2, flow and nutrients are really good or you end up with algae infestation!
If it's without individual reflectors, i think 4x54w may be just right
