    kuhli loaches making bubble nests

    i transferred 2 kuhli loaches into riccia tank. a while later they started to make bubble nests among the thick riccia. what do you suggest is happening? any of you guys have have a similar experience?

    No experience, but to quote from www.loaches.com :It has been reported elsewhere that the kuhli loach builds a bubble-nest, but I've never actually seen this.

    Possibly spawning? Sounds exciting.

    I got this from a book (on the breeding of the Coolie Loach):

    "Courtship certainly includes the male gently mouthing a female around her vent. The pair wrap around each other and entwine at this satge, before swimming off and finding an area of thick plant growth near the surface. Here, they join together side by side and whilst pressing against each other, releasing eggs and sperm. The eggs are green for camouflage.
    As soon as you are sure that there has been breeding activity (the females will look a lot slimmer), remove the adults.
    Since this species tends to spawn in surface plants, include thick plant cover in this area of the aqaurium."

    And some pple say tt Pangio kuhli make nests tt juz look like bubblenest; good luck!

    thanks guys for the info. i am not sure but it seems that they are building bubble nests. i've seen them entangled with each another but i duno what happened after.

    Hmm I was wondering.. did they make the bubble nest on the floating or submersed riccia?
