i know.. been there before. (its the one where you have to go "off road" right?) but i think they removed the lights after Mas Selamat got caught. don't like to fish in darkness, you never know when you hook yourself. heard from one of the regulars that there is a resident cobra there. so better watch where you step.

yup, i gave up on lures as i do not know how to work them.

baits that I use, tamban, live/dead prawns, kelong sotong.

for freshwater, i use chicken liver, feeder goldfish, baby tomans. you should try this at pasir ris farmway 3. used a 3 cm gold fish to catch a 1.5ft pacu. my friend caught a 25kg patin with that too. lol.

Woo where this punggol track?? i tried sembawang park but always full of people, and i also went inside to the big canel at the bottle tree but after once midnight all lights off and the canel kinda of smells. As for punggol, it seem like the jetty is always full too. Singapore is having lesser spots to fish. I fish reguler at nicoll highway on top the bridge where the merlion used to be but ever since the water is been converted , the fish all move house .

Jetty at lower seletar reservoir legal to fish? I may try there soon and also what bait to use?

Yes lower seletar reservoir can fish, saw alot of people fishing under the MRT bridge. End of lower seletar reservoir is actually Sea, lots of people fishing there also but you get sangkot easily due to lots of rocks beneath. You might need 2 float, one big and one small near the hook to prevent sangkot.

I guess prawns are good. but not easy to buy live prawns in that region. If you drive, try to drive something more for off road uses, the last time i was there, the road condition is like &!@(#%^!@#$.

Re: Where is a good spot for fishing?

Kk i usually buy my bait from yishun so no worry about the bait but i am more worried about the road as my car not meant to go off road. Will walking be far??

Recently near my work place, i saw few uncles keep bashing in and out of the "jungle" along the Yio Chu Kang road with their fishing rods? Is there any spot inside the area?

You bought your live bait from who? Sincere or Team 7? I find Punggol 17 road still pretty ok to drive.

That is Sincere Tackle shop. What do you mean by fighter? Whats the price like for their prawns? You try the milk fish before? IS the milk fish effective?

Re: Where is a good spot for fishing?

you find it okay to drive? (are we talking about the same place?)
hmmm.. last I remember there are a few potholes, but i haven't gone there for about a year odd. maybe things have changed. my friend used to drive his jazz in at like 1km/hr to avoid damaging his bodykit.

I am dying to go back to saltwater fishing after all this talk!

There's a sign of State Land board before you turn in, can tell the sand are quite new, newly pour in. The place is located after the LRT track.

The price of the prawn kinda of cost $3 per 100g if i remember correctly. I never use milk fish before. Fighter mean their prawns is going on very strong even after hours of fishing with airpump but without airpump they also can survive around an hour. I had experience from some other shops that their prawns become half dead or dead even before i reach my fishing spot .

Gosh my hand damn itchy now and so wanted to go fishing too. I going to fish till i drop this coming nov as i on leave whole month

There are people who put ice in it, it will cause hybernation to the prawns, it will not die but the moment you bring out and hook it, it wake them up and active again. It could be Sincere Tackle shop dont use chiller to cool down their water, so the temperasture is close to outside temperature where as most shop use chiller to keep the water at low temperature, so the moment you brought back, the temperature had a sudden drop causes the prawns death.

Btw how many prawns can you get in 100g(heard that over 10+ pcs), just curious.

Re: Where is a good spot for fishing?

oh i see. No wonder the prawns i buy last time always so fast up the bus. I never really count how many prawns for 100g but is around 12-14 pieces as i usually put my hand to feel the prawn when there no fish bitting . I will usually let the prawn poke my hand to let them "have their revange" before i catch them one by one to hook their "backside" .

Whole Singapore is State Land. No worries. So many people fish there, never heard anyone get warning.
