I kept some articles in my early days. The sites are still available, plus did a search up, these are some that can be read or viewed for reference. Exploding yeast bottles sounds funny only if it does not happen to you or me.

Thank you jiajuen900 and blue whale for the sharing, got to try it out myself.![]()

Hi Danny,
You could buy Nutrafin CO2 reactor. Use the CO2 mixture provided. After, the mixture finishes to provide CO2, you can reuse the container which I think is the most hardy canister.
JBL CO2 container will be out of shape over time, due to pressure built up.
I currently is using both of em. Bubble rate is crazy but since the CO2 content isn't that much (even after 1 week), I am able to let both running at more than 10bps per bottle without the need to "on" the air pumps. The tetras, bettas, gourami could still swim deep without having to float constantly for air. No values or taps are installed for both but a backflow valve are there in between the tubes from the canisters to the tank.
My sugar solution is basically measured by my tongue and not measured by the container, water, or number of spoons of sugar. They have to reach a level I consider very sweet before being funnelled into the containers.
I saw it recently at Y618 for about $30. If not, just get a co2 canister with manual regulater at NA for $69 manual regulator is similiar to dIY buy alot better with better control of the flow of co2. It also lasts longer, and has less chance of exploding.![]()

They explode because usually the owner put a valve whilst the tank cannot withstand the pressure. Don't forget you still need to top up the tank at about ±$30. Transportation at your own cost of course.
$30 I'd say go for it. Yeast powder I buy in one box, can't recall how many packets but usually one packet can use for few months but must be tightly sealed.
