    Hi guys,

Just curious, have anypne ever kept Threadfin together with Sakura or CRS in a heavily Planted Tank?

Was thinking, these fishes has small mouth, would it be safe for shrimplet to co-exist with them.

    Thank you.

I'm doing that right now and I think it's not just the size of the mouth, but also the temperament of these fish that made them suitable for me.

You can even tell by how the shrimplets behave to gauge if the fishes are attacking them. If you never ever see a shrimplet out in the open, feeding, chances are that the fishes are attacking them. If even your sub-adults are hiding all the time (I had a balloon ram for awhile, haha), you better remove that fish.

I guess the threadfins may eat a few of the really really tiny shrimplets but I can see 2mm long shrimplets out in the open feeding and the fishes left them alone. Population of the shrimps are not exploding, but then again, I doubt its the threadfins (I have forktails and galaxies too)

Its especially fun to watch when the shrimps are eating algae pellets and the threadfins all line up down-current to feed off the bits that the shrimps throw back at them.

All in all, I would rate Threadfins the 3rd safest fish for shrimps. 1st being otto and 2nd being Boraras brigittae
