Please help ID this fish circled in green. Currently its in my mom's community tank, not eating the flakes that I usually give my guppies and tetras.

    Thank you.

yup I think it is badis badis.
They usually take live food only and they are quite slow in feeding.
I feed it with tubifex worms, have to use a tweezer to bring the tubifex infront of it, else the other fishes will finish up all the food...
IMO, quite a hassle to keep them in community tank in terms of feeding.

Treat your fishes like your baby. The sign and symptom is the same but cannot talk.

Its a badis badis ! They only eat live food. Feed them black worms. If you know where I can get some here in the USA let me know. I've been looking for them for months. Stores here either don't sell them or have never heard of them. Great little fish. Good luck . Don't forget FEED THE BLACK WORKS. You can also try frozen blood worms. Feidi is right , its a pain in the neck to get them to eat in a community tank. Most of the food won't make it to the bottom where they hang out. The others will eat it.

It is not Badis badis. Badis badis are MUCH larger. That's a Dario dario aka Scarlet Badis, like what jiajuen900 said.

It will ignore most flake food and pellet food. You need to feed it with small live food. If you have an LFS nearby selling BBS, use that. They love tubifex (not too much..), daphnia and BBS. I used to feed mine with vinegar eels, microworms and BBS. But it was too much hassle.

Where did you purchase your vinegar eels and microworms? LFS in S'pore don't seem to sell them.

I had cultures of them from when I used to keep and breed killifish. There's a guy in Bedok who probably still has cultures of the microworms, though I'm not sure if he still has them. Last I recall, he was a betta breeder.

I don't know who else keeps vinegar eels now. The vinegar eels are the easiest to culture, less messy, and much less smelly compared to the microworms.
