Aquascaping CHAT ROOM?

would anyone be interested in a aquascaping chat room?

i could easily create one on IRC. it could be a place for all of us to hang out; talk about aquascaping, or simple to chit chat.

IRC is a program that has been around for a long long time, it's very user friendly, and even if you're just going to be idle, you can simple minimize the program in the background and bring it back up whenever you feel like chatting (unlike the web based chat rooms where you absolutely have to have a web browser opened)

most importantly, it's free.

IRC is a chatting program that has been around for a long time, and you can pretty much find any type of chatroom you want on there.

it would be very easy to create a room for aquascaping and perhaps even let the other aquascaping communities know about the chat room so we can further expand our social network.

as opposed to a web based chat room which requires you to have your browser opened at all time and sometimes disconnects you, if you're the person who usually leave your computer on all day, you could simply idle in the room and the program will minimized into a little taskbar icon on your windows (as if it's not even there) and you can maximize it when you feel like chatting (it also does not lag the computer like a web site would)
and to really build a live chatting community, it's essential for the new comer to see at least a few people in the room at all time (this way, they will feel more inclined to stay, or visit) even if out of the 15 people idling there's only 2 active participants. but that's just how a community grows.

not to mention that fact that IRC already is a big social network... so we would also get random people popping in as opposed to a more specified web based chatting program where the only people who knows about it is the people from that very site.

it takes literally 2 seconds to set up. and it's user friendly.

We have previously considered a chat function on AQ and in the end, decided against it. But if you guys want to hang out, by all means. I do know that there's already a facebook group up and also there's a but of them regularly chatting on MSN.

Hey, I'm webmaster and I use a French Xat chatroom, private chat room is great with a translator.

In addition to the forum of Brazil and Mexico were the same.
And when I go on their forum, I just talk to aquarists the world.
