If you can take the mesh out, dip it in a Flourish Excel bath for a moment and it will die within a few days. If you can't take it out, you can also overdose your tank with Excel by 5 times the recommended dosage or more, and that will often kill it too.

Dosing Excel 5 times??? Will it wipe out all the livestocks as well??? eg. Shrimps (CRS, Cherries, Yamato), Fishes (eg. guppies, Ram, Apisto, Tetras, etc.)?

of course, it will kill everything

OK so there is plant on the mesh, that going to be tricky because overdose excel also kill moss. but I guess spot treatment using excel is the only way, the moss will recover.

haha... funny. Truth is boiled water kills all organisms. Likewise. fire work extremely well against zombies, vampires, werewolves and other evils.

I've had no problem using it with Discus, Cardinals, Rummynose, Barbs, and SAEs, so I'm certain the fish won't even notice. I've also overdosed my shrimp tank, but I don't know by how much, and they didn't seem to notice either. My hunch is that it won't be a problem, but if you're really hesitant, you can always test it on a small group of individuals, or take the mesh out and dip or spray it.

I disagree that it will harm your moss. Excel is a carbon substitute for all plants, which includes mosses. There are some plants that are sensitive to it (Blyxa Japonica, Riccia, and a few others...), but mosses are incredibly hardy, and I think the only affect on them will be positive.

Excel active ingredient is a polymerized isomer of glutaraldehyde known as polycycloglutaracetal. Glutaraldehyd is a strong disinfectant, this answer why it kill algae

Wiki mention "Adverse reactions have been observed by some aquarists at these concentrations in some aquatic mosses, liverworts, and vascular plants." I do experience it but that because I did a spot treadment.

I am thinking. Don't risk the shrimps. They are prone to death due to chemicals
