Can any bros/sis advise me on any good and hardy background and foreground plants?

I'm only using Denerrle Black Quartz Sand with a PL55W light.

    Thanks!

Try Echinodorus tenellus for your foreground. Background, maybe Rotala macrandra "narrow" green. Java fern can also use for background, provided is large and mature.

Midground can plant Cryptocoryne species or Java ferns and Anubias.

Do you have any base fertilizers or root tablets? How about co2 injection?

No, i won't be adding in any fertilizers as primarily i'm into guppies.
    No CO2 as well.

Re: Advise on background and foreground plants

I would suggest low maintenance / low requirement plants such as Anubias nana, nana petite for the foreground, and Java ferns for the background. Bolbitis on wood would make for a nice midground.

Go for hornwort in the background. Doesn't need CO2.

You can try any of the Vallisneria species for the background. I'd also go with tenellus for the foreground, or a dwarf hair grass species.

Hmm...have it occurred to you that guppies know mathematics (aka. multiplication)? Assuming that you have both male and female, you might consider the tank as a production factory too.

My dad once rear guppies, they tend to multiply very fast. But here is the thing, he is rearing them in small rectangle tanks (x3) without any soil or plants.

I have other tanks for guppies breeding. I'm a breeder of guppies.

Since you are not planning to add fertilizer nor CO2, you might need to reduce your light wattage from 55W to 24W or 36W. If not, probably you will have algae attack alternately you do daily water change

Have little bit of algae also nevermind. Guppies will feed on it sometimes. Not to worry. I think you will do fine. Just make sure the water current isn't very strong. If current strong then have some driftwood to built a santuary for the weaker fishes who need to take refuge once in a while.

^_^" I will remember tetra names, not plant names. Perhaps if you can sound off where you live, they might be able to bring out some shop for you to go see see look look when you are free.
