    Hi,

If space permits, you can buy some long stockings
Then dump all your old soil/sand into it, tie it up and leave it inside the tank after laying the new soil. Just don't wash the sand with tapwater or let the sand get dry or all the bacteria inside will die.

Then you'll have all the bacteria still around, but any snails in the sand cannot get out from the fine stockings.
you can then safely remove the stockings after 4-6 weeks

PS: The more sexy the stockings, the better LOL. Just don't buy those fishnet ones with big holes. Just buy some cheapo ones from Daiso or NTUC

I wanna remove all algae, or snail or any dirt before i plant them back to the tank again. will the plant die if i soak them for like 2hour or so? What type of bleach (washing chlorine or tap water)??

1.1: Do i need to rise the plant with tap water again to remove the bleach after soaking?
2: Some part of the tank is also cover with green algae spot, i will use sponge to clean them. Question is will it be better to use some bleach to clean the tank instead?
3: I got a ehiem 2211 filter with brand new media, so i would said this is new filter. To speed up the cycle process do i:
Let both the new filter and old filter to run at the same time? Or can i take out the sponge in my old filter and place them into the 2211? By the way my old filter is a small boyu internal filter. 4: As recommended by shadow, I will keep my guppy and tetra in a pail with air pump. But is air pump enough without filter? What need to take note if i'm keeping them in pail with just air pump for weeks? Like water change weekly and remove the poo from them ect. anything else?

Really thanks everyone for helping me.
I will get a pack of Ada soil to replace the lapis sand i'm using now. I guess it's not necessary to get Ada power sand. just the Ada soil is good enough for planted tank right and 1 pack of 9L is enough for a 1.5ft tank?

1)The bleach will be stay in the plants and give out slowly. I think u cannot keep shrimp anymore.

1.1)Use spone, MRT card or new pen knife blade.
    2) No
3)Just run with new filter will do cos old water.
Guppy do need air pump except tetra need. Just a small air bubble will help to keep tetra alive. Need clean water. Best to put your boyu internal filter there but make sure no fast current in pail.
Treat your fishes like your baby. The sign and symptom is the same but cannot talk.

    A VERY VERY BUSY DAY...

    Super tired now.

Morning reach NA at 10.30am realize they open at 11.45am so go for breakfast.
Finally they open, bought 1L of bio rio and those bag that use to keep the media and The Main Item, Ada Soil.

The real tough job start when i reached home. took out all the plant, stone, drain out water catch those guppy and tetra and house them in pail(currently with air pump)

The lapis sand is the real shit stuff. The poo from the guppy and tetra is really smelly and speechless.

Clean the tank thoroughly and i did a white background. currently i'm planning the arrangement of rock, and also taking a break.

Just some picture of the bare tank with new white background

The Ada soil i only fill in half for the time now, wanna confirm with the arrangement before adding more

I might open a thread of this journal in aquascraping with full story if the final tank is nice.
Wish me luck and hope my fishes can stay alive under the Life Support System (Air Pump)

=P the glass look very thin...I am quit for 6mm. I am making sure to get 10mm for the next one. I might arm myself with a glue gun and do some modification.

It seem like you want to do some slopping. Why not modify the bottom with either plastic dividers or glass w/glue gun. Then fill the ada soil back, can use less soil whilst creating a different scape. I be likewise doing the same once I have the tank.

they do sell but the timing may not be on your side. So if it is urgent, you can ask them to order for you
