My atman cf800 filter has been running for about 1 month and I noticed that the flow rate has reduced quite alot. Water was gushing out of the rain pipe creating alot of current about 2 weeks ago but now the flow is not as strong.

So I opened up the canister and rinsed the media and filter pad and also changed the water inside the canister as there was quite alot of dirt.

However, after doing that, the flow rate is still the same. What other parts should I clean which could have affected the flow? How do I wash the pipes of dirt/algae?

When I removed the hose for cleaning, I was amazed there was so much dirt/slimy stuff on inside. To remove them, I poured hot water inside and the slime coagulate. Then I flushed it off with water. Flow rate has returned to normal.

What surprises me was that the pipe was so choked with those slimy stuff compared to debris found inside the canister.

I expect the filter to be dirty as that was the first time I installed the canister and the tank was really dirty. The flow rate should remain optimum for a longer period now.
