not in my tank, the amount of O2 generated during photosynthesis is more than enough until the next day. However, it is also depend on your bio load.

Me neither. My fishes don't gasp for air near the surface too.
i was thinking if no water movement, will it breed mozzie ??
maybe the fishes will eat it hor....
but with a air pump will it affect the plant from pearling?
air pump will indirectly remove the CO2 from the water (due to surface agitation).
Fish will eat mozzie larva no need to worry.
what about those people who have tanks in their offices. Weekends no work, meaning lights are off, will there be enough oxygen to last 2 days until monday? will 2 days blackout do any damage to plants like mosses and low-light requirement plants?
my office tank light control by timer so even weekend it will on![]()
Most timer got on/ off. Those at NTUC also have. In fact, most have on/off.
Imagine a clock like interface with fins on the exterior.
You press down the time you want it to be on. Those not press down are for off.
So if I will press down the region from 2-10pm, it means solid 8 hours of running.
If you connect an extension cord to the timer (which most likely you need to), make sure you buy SiSir certified one. Timer...I'd say no need to be certified. Usually extension cord I will buy good one, those they are regulated downwards to provide more stable power current flow. A bad one will either shortcircuit the whole unit orr...it will catch a fire.
I put air pump for sake of correction. Just in case I overdose the tank with CO2 that is, so they are not all the way on.
