Can anyone help? Wah now this forum too many people the post goes down too fast always no response hahah!
Hi Everyone,
I have a problem. In the last couple of months, I have been using a lilypipe for my outlet. And Separately I have been using a reactor for my CO2. My tank is 3 feet about 50 gallon. It is very densely planted. I have been doing 5BPS for my CO2 with no visible effect on the fishes.
Yesterday, I changed to a rain bar for my outlet. Reason for changing to a rain bar is because I suspect that using a lily pipe, my circulation is not as distributed thus causing deadspots cause I am seeing BBA on like one general area.
However, after changing to a rainbar, with nothing else changed, this morning before lights on I start seeing all my fishes gasping for air. And my CO2 indicator was at light yellow meaning CO2 is super high.
I understand this is because by using the rainbar underwater, I am not giving surface turbulance thus all the CO2 is better dissolved. I see this as a good thing cause it means my CO2 in the water is now higher. However, my fishes are dying.
So my question is, how do I solve this? If I reduce the BPS then would the BBA thrive even more? If I really need to move the BPS down what would be a rough guide? 3BPS?? THanks a lot in advance!!

just decrease the bubble rate if your co2 concentration is too high.
you can start by reducing to 2bps. the welface of your fishes is more important than bba infestation. if the fishes are ok, try increasing by another 1bps. then try 4bps.
