Trimming your hairgrass in such a way to increase the depth of the tank... Great move!

Nice scape but too much varieties/concealing of plant in the tank. Marks will be greatly deducted. IMHO

Re: My IAPLC'09 tank: summer breeze

IMHO....this is the nicest tank coming from Singapore in IAPLC this year!
    congratulation Robert!

you deserve a higher ranking....but anyway, your tank was shown during the ADA Party in Tokyo and get personal comment from Amano, i also remember the crowd went "wow....." when your tank was projected onto the big screen...that's already priceless...

personally, i believe those tanks picked by Amano for personal comment are those that he thought should get a higher ranking and deserved to be mentioned at the party....

Actually I did not trim. What I did is slope the soil and the hairgrass will grow accordingly. It is quite high slope, fortunately the rock help me keepping the soil in place

HAHA.. Only remember Amano said your NANA grow too much .. it make the scape look stiff. Until now I cannot visualize how the stiff scape look like.

I'm pretty happy with Amano comment because it is something I expected. For example the use of white sand, Stan told me white sand will be deducted but he told me too late, no time to change .

But you are right, the feeling of your work being shown is great, you need to stand some more lucky I seat at the back, not many people can see me
