=) We always aim for good cameras, don't we? Just work towards that Goal. Buying hire purchase will actually make you much poorer due to interest accumulation, so try not to. Rather save enough then buy. I know someone in this forum use 1.3mp camera. You are not so bad. hee hee.

true...
maybe can look for hire purchase with 0% interest from credit card company..
thats what I did.. even road tax I pay by installment .. then no need to come out with 1 big sum of money..lets get back on track

Yep...give you website liao. O2, time for your studies...heh heh.

Yes, I'm researching slowly on a good SLR camera now while everyday pulling out all the visible hair algaes with my hands. Will go buy a few more yamato to help with the minor ones. Not adding iron at the moment. Only Tropica fert and seachem potassium. Hope it clears soon.
Those hair algae, just use hydrogen peroxide inject them directly will kill them instantly, hydrogen peroxide are fine with faunas.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! TIME TO LAY BACK AND RELAX!
A Journey Of A Thousand Miles Begins With A Single Step

Too many areas to do this, will be very backbreaking and time consuming. I'll leaving it to yamato and my cherries![]()

where to buy H2O2? any LFS will sell?

blue33, thanks. do i just walk up to the counter and tell them i want hydrogen preoxide? or they are branded as something else?
any brand/name that i can look out for? Do i need to dilute the H2O2 before apply, or simply just stray/apply?
will too much quantity affect my higher plants and fishes?

ok, i manage to find H2O2 in Guardian. if i transfer it to a spray bottle, does it need to be glass bottle (guardian sold in glass bottle). any issue storing it in plastic spray bottle. its a strong oxidising agent right?

Managed to reduce the hair algae to almost gone with increase in CO2 and 25 yamatosWill start iron again slowly this time by next week..

If you can't measure the ml thingy...just pickup BD 10ml Syringe (Plastic needles w/o the needles) for 40cents (Guardian). It's disposable and pretty handy but because it does not have a long needle mouth, using it on Seachem bottles / H2O2 can be tricky if the bottle overall content is going low,you need to tilt carefully using both hands. The most irritating part of Seachem bottles is when the stickers of the bottle start to wear off bits by bits and stick to the fingers.
If you don't know where is the H2O2 or Syringe, you can always approach the pharmist. Some guardian have pretty pharmist...heh heh.

thanks for advise but i am using ada bottles and 1 push is 1ml![]()

No problem. As long as you can identify the amount you are dosing. H202 cheap cheap only. =)

Just an update that I can't find any visible hair algae now. The yamatos are really effective![]()

It's actually KCL, not K2SO4, but both add K+, get some K2SO4 locally, eg Dr Mallick's etc.
As far as nutrients, they are all the same.
So DIY is the way to go unless you like paying a lot of $$ for a water, with a tiny bit of fertilizer in it.
CO2/light adjustments will get you farther, and shrimp can help pick off what's left.
I think most focus wayyyy too much on nutrients.
Not enough on the larger issues, light and then CO2/current.

Tom Barr

o2,
Good that you managed to reduce the FE from the start of the thread and got something more or less of the balance. Keep that balance constant with your water change cycle.
When you are ready, advance yourself to the next level on the Lights as suggested by Tom, looking at the fauna, if you can read about ADA journals. Now algae presence simply means nutrients in the water are not consumed. If you have competing parties such as an entire fauna of vegetation, that would eliminate the algae totally. I am still looking into this portion so I can't say I could advise you much but there are those like Tom, Vinz, Stormhawk, Blue33, etc. would be able to guide you further.
