Depends on what's going to be inside the tank and how many fishes going to be inside and how dirty it's going to be. I have a 2 foot planted with quite a lot of fishes inside and it's quite dirty before I changed my filter to a atman cf800 canister filter. It's still not as clean as I want the water to be.

That canister you linked looks like a clone of the popular Eden 501, and its not much cheaper, I would say go with the Eden 501.

How high is your bioload? If you have less than 20 fish you can probably get by with the Eden 501.

But if you have more or are planning to have more fish, might want to consider a larger Eheim or Atman canister filter, something in the 700 - 800L/hr flow range.

There's multiple clones of the Eden 501. I saw at least 2, maybe 3 at C328, from several brands.

I agree with Fuzzy, if you're planning on getting that BOYU filter, might as well get the Eden 501. You can change the filter media, if you don't like what it comes pre-packaged with. It's a good filter for a 2 foot tank with low bioload.

i rather you invest in a eheim filter maybe a 2213 or 2215, you can get 2nd hand on the market place.

just get the smallest eheim from NA about $70 not far from eden501. Less problem

For a 3 foot tank, nope. It would not be sufficient.

You'd require a much larger filter to handle a 3 foot tank, depending on your bioload. The more fishes you have, the larger the filter has to be.
