Hello hello!
Greetings!
My name is Renee; I'm a 22-year-old college student in Oregon. Honestly, this is a really new hobby for me--while my family always had at least one fish(or perhaps five different betta bowls) while I was growing up, mainly we just had really long-lived goldfish.
But I bought some marimo on a whim... I live in the dorms, but I really wanted a pet or something to take care of...
I ended up fascinated by aquarium plants in general the more research I did. I have a small desktop aquarium that is empty (except my marimo) at the moment, but I'm planning on having a simple, low-maintenance planted aquarium with a hardy fish or two.
I have a while yet before I buy the plants and everything, since I will be at home for winter break, but in the meantime, I wanted to make sure to know everything I need to take care of my new plants... So here I am!
While I'm not a hardcore, experienced hobbyist, I'd like to say that the aquariums I've been looking at in the galleries are breathtaking. Wanting to grow something as beautiful was definitely a motivator for having a planted aquarium for me; it's like having a secluded, picturesque sanctuary all to yourself.
