There are several mini tanks with inbuilt filtration units, IOS or other types. The Tetra Aqua Art series are not bad to begin with. Should fit your requirements.

As titled,
i've been searching around for models like IQ3 with a IOS built.
reason is i doing a small tank for someone, limited desk space.
Thanks

The IQ3 I already find really tiny. Heh, maybe clear some stuff off your desk?
What are you planning to keep in the tank?

Bro thanks for your advise, will go look around to have a good look.
Hopefully it will fit the desk.
Its for my girlfriend's cubical, not much desk-space. Her aunt has a IQ3.
Going to posion my girlfriend with Sakura or cherry shrimp even more
Need to do low-tech, low maintenance.

ooh evil plan, I like!
Hmm I don't think I've seen anything with a smaller footprint than the IQ3, considering you don't need to hang a filter on it or anything. I've not seen anything similar yet, though I have only been to C328 / Polyart recently.
Other suggestions if you don't mind a small HOF, are the Dennerle nanocubes and maybe the JBJ Picotope.

Sometime back, I did a mini tank for my gf at her old office, with a mini Nisso (I think) curved front tank, about 25 cm long and an Eden 316 internal filter. Suited it well, but the air in her office was terrible. In places with bad ventilation, even in aircon environment, I don't think it's advisable to have a fish tank.
I did find this model on the Nisso site:
http://www.nisso-int.co.jp/aquarium/.../ClearMate.htm
Not sure if it comes with a filter unit but at 20 x 20 x 20, that's small enough.

I saw this Kotobuki tank during the last Aquarama. Missed buying it, but it was a beautiful tank set.

seen IQ3 selling at tampines central. i think the name of the lfs is k&k something if i am not wrong.

quite a few places are carrying the IQ3, but the problem is the prices also have a really wide range.
I've seen them selling for anywhere from $60.00 - $85.00
And wow that Kotobuki tank looks cool! hehehe

yea agree. its a well built tank, just too small. but if we are into nano it will be a great tank i guess.

Is the Kotobuki ones selling over here? It could be what i was looking for.
There are people keeping fishes there, the only plus point i feel is that alot people work late hours so the aircon is on maybe 16 or more hours a day.
I only been to C328 and NA cause their along the way home but i never knew the price range is so large![]()

i just went browse around NISSO's site.

Not bad looking but no integrated filter, but great for a low tech shrimp tank
Guys, try using google translate, i had a good laugh at the translation

There is a Kotobuki distributor locally (somewhere) but I have not seen those models before, maybe too new?
Google translate and babelfish are always good for a laugh.
I like Nisso tanks (even though many of them have curved front edges) but the models that are available locally are very limited, I own an old model 3ft Nisso Stingray R313EX that I'm still very happy with, and its even made in Japan! hehehe
Not sure who the Nisso distributor is now, but over the years I've seen a specific Nisso model magically appear then vanish within 2 months never to be seen again in the local market.
I think you might have to slightly modify the IQ3 though, I've not stared closely enough at the tank yet, but it seems like the overflow is big enough that shrimplets would be swept into the sump compartment...then minced on the way back out.![]()

Got this IQ3 for my bettas... now headache as I am new to both bettas and planted tank... lucky found out abt this site... quite informative..

Damn I miss my old NISSO Stingray mini tank too. Too bad my gf's mom broke it by accident.
As for that Kotobuki tank set, it is cool, but when I asked the Japanese staff at the stall during Aquarama, they said it's not for sale yet in Singapore. They did not give me a time frame as to when it would be released here. I have no idea who the distributor in Singapore is though. Maybe Qian Hu?
The IQ3 looks like a great mini tank set, but the overflow section might require some tinkering with to prevent shrimplets being sucked in with the overflow. That is, if someone turns this into a shrimp tank.

Found a place that sells the IQ3 at a good price. Was wondering if the lights are not powerful enough is there space to add another Dymax LED light?
Was thinking of setting one up for my boss coz he seems to be interested. Dunno if I can plant HC in it without CO2 injection.

Even 4 of the Dymax LED lights aren't going to be enough to grow HC nicely, you will need to get a PL light fixture to replace the stock lighting with.
CO2 injection isn't necessary though, but it helps a lot.
K, thanks alot for sharing that. Saves the trouble from finding out. Am scratching my head trying to figure out what plants I can use for the IQ tank with 2 Dymax lights. Easiest way is just go moss all the way. Office is a good 24C, my current tank on my desk, 1ft cube, is stable at 24C.
At first I was thinking HC and some mini saggitaria as background. If HC won't do well, I doubt glosso can, and it'll look big in an IQ. Any good recommendation?
