Tell you what, alternate plan is to keep/use the existing one. But addon either 55w x2 or 29w x2 T5 light. =) I know you be still doing wpg calculation so I am not that worry for you. Lights will fail along the way after 1-2 years, so still okay to have a backup one which will come in handy. It is not junk but if you plan to keep it, suggest you use old newspaper and scotch tape the side before putting into the storeroom. When you need to use it, you just need to tear everything apart.

Aqua Star Trading ran out of High power T5, BioTope there have limited selection. I usually don't go Y618, hence you have to ask around. I be going to C328 to check them out instead. If you just need T5 24wx2 maybe you can just call Aqua Star Trading before you go down; They still have lower power T5 for 24w.

    Aqua Star Trading 6759 3400.
BioTope 6363 4168 (Most likely Victor/Thio will be manning)
Rainbow 6287 3988 (Serangoon if you are interested to go over there, best if you own car)
Qian Hu 6766 7087 (if you own car)

    haiz...no have lor.

You have to factor in the width of your tank, because if the light is too big, it won't fit. I got 24wx2 instead for my 2ft, as I figure the 24wx4 will leave me with not much space for the fan. But I still have led lights and the 2x13w PL light. Still thinking how to arrange them.

Brand is Aqua Zonic - Agent: Yi Hu Fish Farm Trading (Singapore)

    T5
    30cm, 2x6w
    36cm, 2x8w
    40cm, 2x14w
    45cm, 2x16w
    60cm, 2x24w (also available is 4x24w)
    90cm, 2x39w
    120cm, 2x54w
    150cm, 2x80w
    180cm, 4x39w

My 2x13W PL is from Aqualife, you can see it in Aquascaping, Operation Maximus thread. =) The pict. should still be there if I haven't deleted it yet.

    1. You need to check the length and width of the tank.
    2. Look at the above table and see which one fit it best with the best performance.

Sometimes, the extra cents count, if not you buy another one after buying one, that would also put an extra weight on your pocket too.

In that case, use something else then if that nano light from Biotope is not up to your liking. There's probably a small light set from Arcadia for small tanks. You might want to pay a visit to C328 or any other big LFS so you can browse through their stock.

Or you can go and DIY yourself a light set using those Cree LEDs like what ervinelin did here:

If the one ft is just for trying, you can just go 30cm, 2x6w at Aqua Star. But if you are going for 2 ft soon, you might just want to go for 60cm, 2x24w or 4x24w, the legs are adjustable anyway, it's just that it will look awkard on the 1 ft.

I do hope you move up to 2ft soon. The 1ft can be set off as hospital when needed. So keep it in good shape.
