From the Background

I've been visiting this site for more than a year now and signed not so recently. I have stayed in the background during my visits but were encouraged to communicate by members who are always willing to share their their experiences whenever questions are thrown to the table.

Greetings to everyone. Some backgrounder about my 'expertise'.

I have a 75-litre tank at home just for 'fish-keeping'. Fishes and plants were replaced whenever they stop living. This is the sort of maintenance that I've been doing for more than two years now. Tetras, guppies, mollies and barbs were some of the short-term residents of my tank. At the moment, other than the two surviving golden barb (which amazingly grew to 3x it's original size), gold fishes are the main stays. I wonder how long they will last under my 'tender, loving care'.

I have seen the members' tank in the gallery and I admit I envy them. So I decided to start a 'real work' on my other tank that's sitting in my office (a 16-month old Fiveplan nano tank gift from my wife). It used to be similar in 'set-up' to my bigger tank at home though slightly better. I have started the work towards a planted scape to house shrimps. Hopefully I'm on the right track to good learning from the experience from this project. If results are favorable, it would be my 75-litre tank's turn to shine next. Until then, it's current residents can rest easy.

Apologies for a lengthy piece. I just want to shed my old self and start right for our small friends. So please, help me out...

My tanks used to be like your 75L.... " real work " alot more fun and have better results to do up. Good luck with your nano planted
