Removing Water Stains / Lime Deposits (Secret Weapon)

Hi Fuzzy,
I am newbie and have recently bough a used 422 tank. Wish to check where can I buy some Ezeclean compound? As I need to remove the stubborn algae stains all over on the tank glass.

Just to share, if in case no one knows it yet. Bar Keepers Friend is good for removing water stains. It won't scratch the glass. Or if you can get the main ingredient. Oxalic Acid. This compound is stronger than vinegar and is very fine. It's a common thing in Philippines(as we use it for laundry. Hehehe!) But recently I needed some for a small aquarium and got it online.

Sorry to revive an old thread. I got an used 422, and trying to refurbish the tank. Any new methods to cleaning water stain/ lime stone?

The melamine sponges are fine for regular cleaning like light algae on glass and don't affect the fish at all (have been using for more than a decade for both fish tank and turtle tank.

But there is another Daiso-type product—called daiya-mondo uroko tori/diamond scale remover—actually made for removing hard white scales from bathroom mirrors that can handle the harder white water scales on aquariums too:



The product description on the back says:
"This special, professional grade abrasive sheet is made with artificial diamond abrasive. Easily removes stubborn water stains from bathroom mirrors."

Does exactly what is says! Have to rub wth some vigour but works great—no chemicals or mixtures or soaking needed! Have been using for years. But would NOT use on acrylic.

Also great for cleaning filter parts. I soaked the various components of an older HOB filter overnight in Bar Keepers Friend solution and the stains and deposits came off easily.
