It is a Jewel Cichlid, and probably Hemichromis guttatus.

I have no idea where to find the "green jewel cichlid". I know I see them from time to time at C328, the usual variety. But take note that it is a very AGGRESSIVE cichlid. All the jewel cichlids are nasty little buggers.

You mean Apistogramma baenschi or Inka50? I have no idea on price. Maybe $100+ per pair? I don't see them much, but I think SCOPE and some others will know.

As for the Jewels, the ones I used to keep, even bred in a small plastic tank when I was doing a tank revamp. I left the pair in there for like 30 mins and the female laid a ton of eggs on the tank bottom.

    Re: help id

john, some clearer pictures will help. But at first glance, I think it is probably a Mikrogeophagus altispinosus aka Bolivian Ram. That one in the picture is not looking too good.

    Yeah, Stormhawk.
    It is a Bolivian Ram.
Easier to maintain compared to German Blue Ram.
    Lower cost too.

Apistogramma Baeschi now not so expensive,
around 60 to 70 can get.
unless wild caught or German Bred.
