eggs on malayan shrimps..

yoz...just saw that 1 of my malayan shrimp got egg underneath..
the eggs are dark green in color...
but they are inside the body...

currently i seperate it from the others...
so is it ready to give birth???

if so...wat should i do next...

eh, i can't tell u how cos i've never bred malayan shrimp before
but what ah tan at bioplast does is leave them alone in the tank (which has a lot a lot a lot of moss) and you just see the babies hiding inside all the time

if you like, you can catch out a few malayans (just to make sure the eggs get/are fertilised) and place them in a tank with a serious abundance of moss

by the color of the eggs ah???

just throw a bunch of shrimps together, make sure they don't ALL have eggs (which means they're ALL female which isn't what we want right!?), birds do it, bees do it, so does shrimps. Then make sure there are lots of moss, perhaps some hair algae, perhaps you got a tank with hairgrass with green hair algae? these IME are very good for shrimp hatching, probably lots of microorganisms for the babies to feed on. After couple of weeks you will start to find very tiny white things bouncing about

Although I find cherry, taiwan and tiger shrimps tend to be easier to breed. Just found some of my mosquito shrimps with eggs as well. We'll see if they make it.
