You didn't miss anything. Except maybe that single male bitaeniata I saw. There's still an odd caca male in one of the random tanks near where aunty keeps her gravel bags.

A note to those who are buying. Some of the pairs are actual 2 males. There's at least 1 oddly shaped agassizii Alenquer male, and his "mate" is actually a sleeper male. Same for the aga Red. I can't be certain for the rest, but the trend is simply disturbing. Once I saw an obvious caca, in a "pairing" with an aga male.

Seems like the farm supplying them, are not interested in actually selling proper pairs. It's like a guessing game.

I swapped the female hongnei from the back of the shop. The female at the betta tank looks like a sneaker. Can't be too sure, otherwise, its a very colorful female.

This is the fun part of keeping apistos... guessing sneaker males!

There are 2 new pairs of Taeniacara candidi. The older one got sold. The current pairs have 2 huge males paired with 2 very small females. I don't know how that'll work out. The males seem like old breeding stock that the farm decided to release for sale.

mobile, I found this page on Apistogramma hoignei on Rayon Vert Aqua's site:
    http://www.rva.jp/zukan/apisto/ap_hoi_benez.htm

Pretty nice, but robust Apisto. The body is short and thick. Seems like an easy-to-handle species.

Btw genes, the pair of hoignei left behind are 2 males.

I wanted to take one of the candidi pairs but my other half said no, because the male was oversized and the female was puny.

Haaa, luckily i swapped for another female because i was also skeptical about the colorful female.
Well....my rule has always been, "when in doubt, don't buy".

Stormhawk, just pump up the female for 2 weeks.
But beware, the female may kill the male despite the size difference.

Yup I saw a video on Youtube with a much bigger male killed by the female. I thought about pumping the female if I got them, but the males weren't in the best of shape. They look like they were past their prime. Pretty skinny too..
