why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

I don't know. I have shared the link to the main site on my facebook page, which, incidentally has several albums of photos from the last few trips, if you want to see more. If you want to add me as a friend, please be aware that there is more than one Brian Perkins in Portland, Oregon. I am actually in West Linn, Oregon a suburb of Portland and my photo is not of me, but my family (wife and two boys)
I am glad you enjoyed the blog. I'll be adding more as I go on each trip, so be sure to bookmark it or add yourself as a follower. There is a link on the blog to go to my new (as of last night) website. Click on the photo. of us collecting at "La Casita Azul" and you will see information about my company, speaking schedule and collecting expedition schedule for 2010. It is brand new, so I will appreciate hearing your comments about how I can improve it and what you would like to see on it.
Best Wishes,
Brian Perkins

Interesting to see that they actually live in a stream, that's more like a puddle in the forest floor.
Now I understand why the majority of Rivulus, dislike deep water.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
One nearly always finds them in very shallow water, in with heavy vegetation or among stones in this case. There are too many predators out in the main stream. When it rains they can also move over land. The Moemas and Aphyolebias are found in low places where rain collects, 99% of the time under heavy forest cover, always in temporary pools. In some cases these are rather deep ( up to 20 cm) compared to the Rivulus habitats. The pH of the water ranged from a high of 5.8 to a low of 4.4 in these pools. In some cases I have found Rivulus in springs, near to the temporary pools that the other Killies are found in, but in this case only where the springs are up high enough to not flood from the adjoining swamp in the wet season.
Best,
Brian Perkins

Seems like Rivulus would be good candidates for a paludarium set-up, with a shallow water area. I miss my cylindraceus. They wouldn't breed for me, but they were greedy always.
