the java fern (the plants in the middle) should not be inserted into the substrate like that. instead its better to tie it to a driftwood or something to cling on. burying the rhizomes in the substrate will make it rot if i'm not wrong..

I currently redid my whole tank... by removing all the livestock, and most of the gravel. after that i poured in additional substrate to the current one then 2 packs of 3 lit ADA brown soil.
This is how my tank looks like now.. however... i still wanna do something constructive to it.. till now i really still don't know how to identify the plants... any plants to recommend as well?
My tank details:
2X1.5X1.5ft
Eheim 2026 Cannister
2XT5 Hopar
CO2 1 every 2 secs.

Try using some foreground plants like HC, hairgrass

maybe you should make drift wood the focus of your tank and work around it. Hair grass may be easier to handle as a foreground. Seperate them into small clump and plant deep into subtrate with tweezers then pull out a little. Cut off the tips before or after planting to help spread.
Could get some stem plants or taller plants to place around the driftwoods.

JJ

Hi bro,
Just some ideas. The plants seems to scatter all over the place.. Perhaps, you may wanna put all the long plant together with some rocks around them.. The carpet glass can be place in front of them..
Cheers
Koolman

hi koolman... thanks for the suggestion... do you think both my inlet and outlet are at good locations? Do you think i should move them a little off to the corners or nearer to each other?
I'm currently still waiting for one bro to reply... buying a DW soon... any place with nice DW?

Theres no exact position how u should place your inlet and outlet.. Most important is that they should be in diffferent corner. The water flows and push the dirts and the suction will pick up the dirts and recycle the whole water again and again. Hope you have a nice scruplture.. Cheers

Updates....
overview of the whole tank
the newly added driftwood
close up of the wood
My next step should be adding in foreground plants.. but i want something that has less required maintenance.
Another thought... is it possible to add apistogramma in the tank? currently i have tetras, red nose, and some small molly look-alikes...
thanks in advance.. (:
