Now here is something for the students.

You are not using the skills being taught to you in the computer labs.
E.g. Think Qianhu, you'd be going for www.qianhu.com or www.qianhu.com.sg
Well in this scenario, www.qianhu.com would be the correct one.

After finding the website, what would you do? Click on contact us and get the postal code. After that goto www.streetdb.com punch in the postal code, and viola! you have your map aka. http://www.streetdb.com/singapore-st...-FISH-FARM.htm

Nearest MRT is not at Bukit Panjang, its at Choa Chu Kang. So if you are getting over from Marine Parade, you could take a bus to City hall, then advance up via MRT. (Jurong East direction faster, alight and change at Jurong East MRT Interchange). There is a bus going in free, so I will leave the "search adventure" to you, must learn right? There's always a first time.

Now if you are meeting up with buddies, and could afford, just take a cab in, won't cost much from CCK. Coming out is the part you have to worry. Let's hope you don't end up at the cementary in the middle of the night...ha ha.

And yes, I agree you must do your homework. Everyone is. That is what learning is all about, nothing to feel offended by anyway. You learn something, you might have to pay tuition fee.

How much time do you need to go about.
Probably half a day or more...you see, there are a lot of things to see and explore. Just the equipment shop can set you there for half a day. =) Not to mention there are other fish farms around Qianhu also worth visiting.

    Re: Fire bellied newts

I sincerely appreciate all the advice and help the members in this forum have given me.
firstly, i'm 18. i simply wish to let you know that while i'm young, i believe i'm old enough to deserve some respect.
secondly, the people in this forum, some of them, are overly defensive. when i mention 'i'm a student', i'm not pleading helplessness, nor portraying my vulnerability in the hope of garnering sympathy and hence obtain easy access to information as a result of laziness.
i simply meant, that because i'm a student, i lack the transportational means to visit the out-of-the-way places. that is all.

as for the functions of the forum, i believe that forums cater towards the interaction between like minded individuals, who share information and aid each other in their endeavors.
if what i'm asking depicts me as ignorant, if it shows me to be lazy, you're entitled not to reply. in the case that you do, then wouldn't it be common courtesy to at least be polite? moreover, in my case, i've not demanded the information, nor have i asked for explicit instructions, just basic ones, which is that if there were any shops situated near an mrt.
perhaps a reply such as "if you need such information, the forum has this said function that can assist you".

FYI, i've been to qian hu, found my way there myself using the web. but since forums can speed things up, i thought of using your experiences to garner more information on shops selling such critters. again, my question need not be answered, and only those kind/concerned/time enough could, and should answer.

Before i end this post, i would like to thank the people who spoke a kind word in my defense, as well as highlight that my post did not deserve such censure as the rest of you have brought up. Hence, i doubt i will be interested in patronizing this forum further, unless i've grown to a suitable age for you people to better accept, and acknowledge me, as one of you.

    Thank you, and goodday.

Glad to hear you found your way. I also hope that you enjoy the trip there. Students or not is not important here. In life, sometimes you just need someone to pull you a bit when you are in deep water.

There are even younger users here say 14 years, ha ha..you see you are not too bad yet. I am pointing to the skill you already have, and how you can use it. It doesn't have to be for this trip, hopefully you can use it in future.

Don't feel so upset. Uncles like us here can be critical at times, but only tough teachers produce good students. Likewise you must be allow yourself to take some comments at times. Be a sponge and absorb the good part of the advice. Take a rest, after that, I encourage you to check it out.

What to look forward? Goto DIY section, I have a post here on harnessing the power of the sun. You might take an interest at it.

Your setup is ideal for a group of 20. But they really need cool water, 25 degree if I'm not mistaken. Lost my group due to the heat in my house as my block undergone roofing upgrade. I live on the uppermost level in my block. They also need filtration too as a group of these amphibian can foul the water quickly after a heavy feeding session. Don't feed them and they turn cannibalistic on each other with limbs often missing. They do not consume the dead as their mouth are not equipped to tear each other flesh. They will venture out of the water too and may stay out for extended period. Do not mix with any other terrapin or tortoise and even other fishes as these amphibian have soft skin than are not immune to sharp claws or bites or even the fins of other fishes which might be sharp. Rinse your hands before and after handling them as the salts on your hands will kill them. Extended handling of these amphibian with your bare hands are a no-no as your body temperature are higher than theirs.

    Hope this helps!

Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
