... I'm so curious how you grow your Downoi?
I cant grow them well, they usually die after few weeks...

By all accounts I've heard Downoi usually start melting or dying when they are introduced into a new tank.

You have to just trim the brown/dead parts and hope for the best, usually if they survive, they will start thriving in your tank.

So its a bit of luck and pruning really.

a trick i use when using ADA soil...
Float them... for a few weeks...until roots appear...
Then just plant the plant with only the roots in the soil (no stem portion)

    They will thrive after that.

Hi lets wait for a couple of weeks before the downoi settle in. The tank is actually set up last week, the downoi was place in only yesterday evening. so its still early days.

    agree with you.
for better result you want to think to have downoi when your tank is mature or stable enough.

I was using GEX soil (Red shrimp and plant) I planted 3 stalks, 2 of them melted, but the 3rd grew very well after the first month.
