Set up this tank 2 months plus ago.
Started when I got these 3 pieces of mosses from a LFS sale in Taiwan, sold as 三角莫丝.(I think it is Christmas moss after ID by bros in AQ).
The moss condition was deteriorating after a month as I house them a temporary setup where conditions were not ideal... So got excuse to start a new scape!

Decided to decom my ailing iwagumi scape... backache ....

Decided to switch to HOB filter instead this time - Liberty 200

this tank is going hi tech!

Just did a minor rescape today, the water is still abit murky, will post Full Tank Shot when it clears up.

Here is a few pics of the inhabitants

    Malayan Shrimp

Re: Feide Tank 2 - Green is good

Here are the pics for my humble tank.
Wouldn't dare to call it a scape. It is more of jig saw puzzle style, getting the hardscape followed by some planting on the foreground.
Please feel free to give your comments and suggestions to improve the tank. Thanks!

For obvious reasons, its hard for me to concentrate on TV shows

Are you referring to the brownish plant beside the wood? (there is another one at the extreme right of the tank, near the foreground)
It is a crypt (not sure of the actual ID), got it from colourful. Told Richard that I wanted a crypt that will stay small (besides parva) and he recommended this. It stayed small, almost 3 months after planting, sprouting new leaves.

    A few more pics

Thanks luffy, the tank size is 60 x 20 x 30 cm (L x W x H), slimer and shorter compared to normal 2 footers, this is the largest tank I can fit into the cabinet.

Thanks eddy. I am just using a small fan for cooling. Water temperature is around 28. Actually I am also quite surprised as I thought Christmas moss needs cooler water..

Notice u have invert in your tank with a fan. Is it cool enough to grow shrimps? I tried at home but seems like my shrimps keep dying off?

Hi bighermie. Yup, I am just using 1 small fan for cooling. Temperature hovers around 28. I am keeping Malayan and Sakuras now and they are fine but not breeding yet.
Have kept a few pieces of CRS but they died off slowly, not sure is because of the water temp or because of my constant scaping..

Thanks alas. Yes, I am happy that they are playing with the currents to keep healthy.
I have actually transferred the green neons to another tank. So now there are only 8 pieces of x ray tetras. After the green neons are removed, the shrimplets are coming out to the open. The x ray tetras are very shrimp friendly.

hi tarzanboy, the christmas moss is already on the wood when I bought them. Err, I am running CO2 for this setup.

Anyway, I have just removed the 3 pieces of wood with christmas moss as the mosses are dislodging and I failed miserably with retying...
Did a minor rescape. Will post some pictures after things are more settled..

Hi feide, you have a beautiful setup.

Can I ask you, do you have any issues with bioload? You seem to have a lot of fauna in the tank and you're only running a small internal power filter and an Eheim 2041? Any special tricks e.g. specific bio-media?

    Thanks!
    Yecch!

    Hi Desewer

I know my bioload is quite high. I have 30 plus green neon, 8 x ray tetra, 10 plus malayan shrimps, 10 sakura and some bee horn snails.

Actually the only filtration is an Ehiem 2042 (not 2041). I switch the flow to the max.
The small internal filter you are refering to is actually a small powerhead which I use to diffuse CO2 (I added a filter wool at the inlet so that it is shrimplet safe). It sorts of do some mech filtration as well but I think it is quite minimal..

Don't really have any special tricks. I only do a 30% weekly wc. Probably it is also because the fishes are quite small sized.
My filter media is filter wool and eheim substrat pro, here is a pic..
    Hope this helps
