Is there a difference in the types of LED available?
Are those LED on lamps sold by IKEA suitable?
How does LED affect fauna?
Please share your experiences

1. Yes there is a difference, in the spectrum (colour), intensity, etc.
2. Not sure which ones you referring to, the Ikea ones. I suppose so if they are of the right spectrum and intensity. But from what I remember the ones at Ikea are quite expensive and not v. bright.
3. Fauna, as in the fishes? I don't think they really care if it's LED, T5, MH, Light bulb etc. Doesn't seem to matter.
don't forget that led doesn't heat up the tank as much.
ONLY Blue Zebras.

Thanks for all your replies.
This is specifically what I referred to in my previous post.

How suitable is it? I wondered how it would be in terms of cost (replacement and bills)......
"Never have to be replaced" is true for LEDs or only for this case?
I do use Ikea's LED strip lighting. But only for before and after the main lights come on or go off - so as not to shock the fishes.
