harder to find a pure one nowadays
undemanding in terms of water requirement
the water straight from our tap will be just fine (but treat it for chlorine and chloramine first)

You can try one of the LFS near Eunos MRT. I think they have two of the yellow strend in the tank at the front of their shop.

This fish is actually now Amphilophus, not Cichlasoma.
Currently keeping many wild betta species and other anabantoids.

strictly speaking, cichlasoma is still used by many as the principal genus name.

Amphilophus is a sub genus that had branced off into a full genus by its own. At this time it is already established.

However, it is still common and definitely correct to call them Cichlasoma Citrinellum. At the same time, Amphilophus Citrinellum is already very common.

    I am conservative about this.
THe classification of central american cichlids had always caused some confusion. Personally, i will call it "Cichlasoma (Amphilophus) Citrinellum". Cichlasoma still takes precedence.
