We can't really point our finger either at the buyer or the seller exclusively. If one is a newbie, how would he or she even knows that the pet needs to live in a certain "condition". Most people will assume that all a dog or cat needs, is food, water and air.

As for a fish, food and water. I will not be surprise if some people think fishes do not need oxygen, or at least oxygen is a given in the water.

Chinese New Year is coming, many of us will buy flowers to decorate the house or balcony, but how many of us bother to find out how to keep the plants alive....for that matter, when I ask for the plant's name, most of them will say "ehhhhhhhhhh."

For some people who seems not to bother, seriously, they might not even know that the water needs to be conditioned.

As a pet owner, i think we have to be responsible and find out more, but as a seller, I feel it is their responsibility to let the buyer knows about the requirements of the fishes...its really 2 way....but unfortunately, no World Peace in sight.

Most of us will probably try to make do with the least, and when problem arise, and if fortunte enough, we ask the right people, we will start to find out more about nitrogen cycle, ph, kh, or what you have....but until everbody is educated on everything under the sun, we just have to accept the fact that fishes will be sacrificed in human's endeavour to keep them away from their natural habitat.
