It's suppose to make the water more acidic and lower PH. It's a great way to make your tetra colors show in a non planted tank. Maybe your fish are just happy.
I had heard that sea almond leaves are good for the fishes and plants and as it make the water ph higher, more alkaline thus promote the fish health and provide a calming effect. But I have different result. After putting in 1 dried sea almond leave some of my tetra went high and swim crazily. Which I immediately took the leave out.
Any one have similar experiences ?
