Think it depends on the type of apistogramma you're going to get... but sounds good... Do measure your PH regularly...![]()
Its Ocean Free Pro Peat Granules.
I don't trust Ocean Free.
Prefer to use Sera Peat.

Current tank: 1 4 tier 3ft fish rack
Livestock: WC Ivanacara Adoketa, WC Apistogramma Kelleri 'Red Cheeks', A , WC Apistogramma Mendezi, WC Apistogramma Cruziero, WC Apistogramma Elizabethae and WC Biotoecus Operularis.
You can use both or either one. I use apple cider vinegar by itself, since I haven't bought a new box of peat. Otherwise I'd use both at once.
Good results so far Marc. It should probably go lower in a week or two.
Like joop, I don't trust Ocean Free products. Sera or Eheim aquarium grade peat are probably more trustworthy. The AZOO brand should be alright I guess, but I'd stick to either Sera or Eheim. I think both Sera and Eheim peat are in small roundish granule form.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Thanks bro storm, I just hope the little fellas will be okay with it when I bring them home with me on Friday.![]()

Nice breeding setup....i still feel the set up is too "open"....apisto usually like lots of covers.....add in another bunch of Java fern may really help to cover when one become agressive towards the other
Mirrors too may help to reduce agressiveness

Thanks Joe, nice meeting you today! I just added a mirror to each partition. Will be getting more plants during the weekend or next week.
Hi guys, have some algae problem. How to remedy? Add ottos? Also the algae is those long strand kind...
Try to reduce feeding? Use another plant that can absorb nutrients?
Alright, will try feeding less. But a bit hard as I'm trying to pump them up... Lol. Thanks any bro burpz.
