They look different.
Hornwort is a lot thinner and finer, normally left floating. You see these in bags of shrimps sold at C328. If their fine leaves melt, you get a mess. Otherwise, they grow very fast!

I think it needs good soil and good light. Mine didn't look healthy after a while in my low tech, so I have pulled them all out.
